Day 1: The purchase

After we had left the car warehouse and the CR-Z seed had been planted, I continued to look for S2000's and DC5's. Up until this moment I hadn't even thought to check the insurance or running costs of owning either. A few quick quotes later and I came to the realisation that I couldn't afford either of them, so it was back to the drawing board.
Back searching through pages and pages of adverts, that CR-Z popped back in my head. A search on AutoTrader revealed a 2011 Honda CR-Z ZF1, with factory fitted full Mugen bodykit including wing and 17 inch Mugen GP's. I knew I had to make the trip to Grantham to see it.
I jumped on the phone and arranged a viewing the same day. My poor little MG must of been hating me by now, dragging it around the country full well knowing I'd be trading her in for a newer model.
We arrived at the dealership and there she was... A 2011 Honda CR-Z ZF1, full of Mugen goodies and in Premium White Pearl. It was a brilliantly sunny spring day, the paint just popped in the sunlight and as soon as I saw her sitting there I knew she had to be mine!
Not actually knowing much about the CR-Z I had to ask the usual questions, "does it run on electric?", "is the tax cheap?", "what's the running costs?", etc, etc...
The salesman told me everything I needed to hear and then we were off on a test drive. I instantly fell in love, the selectable driving modes, the fighter jet inspired dash, it felt like I was in a car from the future. Holding the throttle and pressing the sport button, the car lunged forward, increasing the throttle response and stiffening the steering... I was sold!
Back at the dealership and all the paperwork was done and I was now the proud owner of a fully Mugen kitted 2011 Honda CR-Z.
