Ok, so the first thing you guys should know is I'm making this blog around 18 months after I bought my 2011 Honda CR-Z.
The reasons? Well... I'm lazy! There is bound to be certain things I get wrong or just plain forget to mention... cut me some slack... its been a busy 18 months!
So without further ado... lets get this show on the road:
Around March 2014, I had been looking to replace my pretty knackered 2003 MG TF (pic not available). She had various problems, leaking roof, clutch slipping, head gasket was on its way out, all the usual problems you would expect from something built by Rover.
So whilst searching and searching endlessly on AutoTrader, eBay and various other advertising spaces, I had my heart set on Honda!
I really wanted an S2000, or maybe even an Integra DC5. So I searched around and stumbled on a nice looking S2000 for sale in Peterborough at a car warehouse! I jumped in the knackered MG and drove up to the sales forecourt, hoping I'd see the car of my dreams... little did I know what to expect!
Upon arriving at the car warehouse, we stumbled though rows and rows of generic boring cars until finally reaching the S2000. Whilst the car it's self was in good shape, it lacked something... something I couldn't put my finger on. We left dissapointed.
While leaving the warehouse my friend said "what about this?"
Pointing at a greenish blue Honda... I didn't remember ever seeing this model before, probably due to being blinded by the S2K's and DC5's! I walked over to my friend to see that he'd picked out a HYBRID!!! Something called a Honda CR-Z? "Never heard of it" I said, looking around the car still hellbent on an S2K.
As I looked around the CR-Z more, it grew on me, I mean the colour was awful (wish I had a picture of it so you could see) but the overall styling really caught my eye. The interior was like a spaceship and a huge update from the digital dash in a S2K.
Leaving Peterborough still wanting an S2K or DC5 I couldn't help but keep the CR-Z there as an option! The seed had been planted...
