With that behind me, it was time to prepare for Baston Car & Bike Show 2014.
This was the first show that I'd be attending as part of the newly formed UK Honda CR-Z Owners Club.
Baston is a great show, free entry and just about every type of car and bike you can think of!
The organisers had given us a huge space (enough for 10 cars) which kinda drowned our 4-5 cars that attended... never mind, we had a great deal of attention, mostly from people trying to figure out if they were a new Civic.
Our stand was next to possibly the most sketchy big wheel I've ever seen...
My mates little boy really wanted to go on it (hind sight came in handy), to which we both looked at each other and said "erm.. maybe later".
A few laps around the show later and back at the club stand, we were watching the big wheel when all of a sudden a loud crack & snap was heard, I saw a support cable bow and snap. The ride came to a complete stop with the baskets spinning on their own accord. Parents didn't know whether to be angry or upset that their children were now stranded on this ride and the operators not looking too concerned.
Long story short... There was a bit of panic and some blood... the moral of the story, don't let your children on rusty old big wheels!

In true car enthusiast spirit, we didn't let this mishap put a damper on things and the show continued.
This is where I first met Chris and Simon from the owners club and was our first official meet. From here we've now grown to a club with over 100 members and we keep growing, it's amazing what can be achieved in just over a year.
