Tegiwa Decat, Ultra Racing Front Strut Brace, BLF Cold Air Fitting, Spoon Sports GE8 Intake Chamber

I had a Tegiwa 2nd Decat sitting around after I bought Chris' old one when he returned his SSM CR-Z back to stock.

I had been waiting to get this fitted for a while and spoke the "resident racing driver" James Rudecki to see if he could help me.

As always with this community, he was more than willing to lend a hand. So it was off to his workshop to fit the decat.

It was a surprisingly quick and painless job, a simple matter of removing the cat and then replacing it
with the decat pipe and then blanking the ecu so it registered the change.

The cat was removed and banished to the workshop floor.

And in it's place was a newly fitted decat pipe... looking good.

On the drive home I had instantly noticed the change, the exhaust popped and burbled and sounded a lot better and it might be a placebo effect but the car seemed to run better.

A few days had passed and I had found a bargin online, a Ultra Racing front strut brace. I snapped this up and it promptly arrived a within a couple of days.

Fitting of the Strut Brace again was quick and painless (going against what everyone else had told me).

I removed the wipers and scuttle panel which gave me access to the points where I needed to fit the Brace.

All that was required was loosening a few bolts, sliding the brace in and then tightening them back up again. Then retracing my steps with the scuttle panel and wipers.

Hey presto... it was finished.

Next, back to up the motorway to see Chris and get on with fitting the GE8 Intake Chamber (supplied by Spoon Sports EU/Burn Motorsport) and completing the Cold Air section of the BLF Induction Kit.

The Cold Air section required us to remove the front bumper to allow us to gain access to where the filter would eventually fit.

It was a bit of PITA, but we got there in the end. Where the filter sits is blocked by the fog light inserts on the Mugen bumper, so we removed a blank plate to allow better air flow to the filter.

Chris wasn't happy that I had decided to fit the Ultra Racing Strut Brace before fitting the GE8 Intake Chamber, as this made it a bit more difficult to get to the bolts in order to remove the stock one and refit the GE8. We struggled through though and it was fitted in no time.

Spoon Sports state that gains of up to 6 hp and 5ft lb of torque can be achieved through fitting the GE8 Intake Chamber. Still haven't had my car on a Dyno yet, so can't confirm or deny this.

But here is the finished article.

There's a few bonus pics I snapped around this time too.
