Decals, Engine Cover & BLF Cold Air Intake,

I saw some Mugen decals for sale on eBay and I just had to have them.
Where I fitted them is a bit unconventional, but I think it works!

At the same time as fitting the decals, I thought it was time for a spruce up under the hood. I painted the engine cover in a rising sun design using rattle cans. I turned out pretty good for a first attempt, with only a few bits needing work.

A red battery tie matches the bolts nicely.

To compliment the freshly painted engine cover, more power and better airlow was needed. I was on the look out for a decent induction kit. Wanting something different than either the Takeda or K&N options, I went with a BLF Cold Air Intake.
This kit is a modular system, so it can run either Short Ram or Cold Air. I did run it as a Short Ram at first due to not being able to remove the front bumper.

The main problem I found with this was heat soak, there's no cover for the filter and so it was left to pull in the hot air under the hood! We partly solved this by enlarging the air flow in the slam panel.
Turbokits.com say that the BLF CAI is good for a 10bhp & 9ft/lbs increase! This is yet to be proven as I've never had my car on a dyno.

Then there was just enough time for a few Christmassy shots.
