Dream Automotive Type R & Various Meets

Shortly after the Spoon Sports EU BBQ, we were also invited by Phil to Dream Automotive's summer BBQ.

 

Again, as I said with the Spoon BBQ, it's excellent that suppliers and garages are putting on these kind of events to build a relationship with the very people that are going to be using their parts, products & services.

 

It's always good to pop down to see Phil and the guys at Dream, and this time was a particularly special occasion.

Phil had taken delivery of his brand new FK2 Type R (the first one I'd seen). Within 2 days of ownership it had been wrapped in a custom design to turn it into Dream's demo car. Phil had told us of various plans for the beastly turbo'd Civic. It was due to be going to Forge for an upgraded dump valve, Eibach were due to have a play around with the suspension and Venturi were going to be making a new intake. It was clear that Phil has big plans for the Type R and I cannot wait to see where it goes.

 

 

Had a few small meets to attend, not much to tell, I'll just leave the pictures here.

 

I stumbled on a small village car show and was able to park next to the only other non-classic car there... a R33 GTR!

 

 

 

New Spoon Sports Reservoir socks were fitted. We were given these as a free gift after attending the Spoon Sports EU BBQ. The car went on show for the Hitchin Market Auto Show, an excellent show where modified cars take over the town centre. The weather was brilliant all day and no surprises that I was the only Hybrid there.

 

  

 

 

We ended up having a short meet in a car park round the back of Ikea, Wembley. We were due to be attending a Honda Meet at Ace Café, but this got shut down before we were even able to get there. 

 

 

 

There was another meet at the 6TWO1 Speedstore, again I didn't managed to get any pics. I've used these that were taken by Adam @ 6TWO1 and Gareth @ Expression Culture.

 

 

 

Spoon Sports EU BBQ

In July 2015, we were invited down to Burn Motorsport in Axbridge by Anthony, for a BBQ provided by Spoon Sports EU.

 

It was meant to be a combined meet with the DC5 Owners Club, but most pulled out for some reason or another and only 2 turned up. Never mind, we had enough CR-Z's to fill the void and chow down on the BBQ.

 

It's great that suppliers are willing to put on these kind of events to build a relationship with the people that are going to be using their parts and products. Being able to speak to the guys at Spoon Sports first hand about their products and the benefits is a valuable experience and gives you faith that you're buying from people in the know.

 

 

An impulse buy was made! I bought a Spoon Sports decal for the boot lid, to compliment my rear screen decals.

 

 

The red chrome vinyl was used to create some Type R inspired badges. (this isn't staying around, as I said before the chrome red turns pink under certain light).

  

 

Baston Village Car & Bike Show 2015

After last years show at Baston, we have now made it an annual occurrence for a club stand.

We had a lot more cars turn up to this than 2014, with 10 cars in total. Nic, with his partly wrapped blue ZF1 came all the way down from Newcastle just for the show. That's commitment.

Simon had blown us all away by having a HKS supercharged fitted. I had been given the chance to drive this and it pulls like a train.... 1 HKS Supercharged added to my wish list then.

 

Dan (as always) had a trick up his sleeve and turned up with a dope battle camo wrap. As if his car didn't grab enough attention, the majority of the day was spent trying to shoot the car without crowds being in the shot.

 

 

 

 

Everyone at Baston is so friendly and given that there's so many different cars and bikes on show that's quite a feat. You'd expect there to be your usual JDM or Euro fan boy stuff going on, but there's none of it and from what I can tell Baston just keeps growing.

 

This completely blacked out SABB looked awesome and caught my eye.

Another Dorset Road Trip

After a week down in Dorset, on the way home I headed to a Hondalife meet at May Flower Park, Southampton. Met a few guys from Hondalife and again got to see some really nice cars. I know, I know, I really need to start taking pictures of the cars at the meets, I'm sorry.
